Terms

TakedownCase is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME — PENDING]. These terms cover the free scan and, where you ask for it, the filing of copyright notices on your behalf.
We are not a law firm
We are not lawyers and nothing we say is legal advice. Using this service does not create a lawyer-client relationship. Where your situation needs legal advice, get it from a qualified lawyer.
The scan
The scan reports where the same words or images appear in more than one place. It is not a finding of infringement, it is not complete, and it only sees what search engines have indexed. Do not act against anyone on the strength of a scan alone.
Filing on your behalf
If you ask us to file, you appoint us as your authorised agent for those notices. You confirm that you own or exclusively license the work, that you have the authority to say so, and that the information you give us is accurate. We rely on that, and we do not independently verify your ownership.
A notice is signed under penalty of perjury. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing creates liability for the resulting damages and legal costs. If a claim is made against us because something you told us was wrong, you will cover it.
We may refuse or withdraw any notice, at any point, for any reason. We will tell you why.
What we charge for
You agree a price for each page before we file. You are invoiced when the content is gone from the live page and we have confirmed it. You are not invoiced for a scan, for opening a case, for a case we decline, for a notice a host ignores, or for content restored by a counter-notice.
What we do not promise
We do not promise removal, and we do not promise a date. Hosts, platforms and search engines decide. Our responsibility for any case is limited to the fee for that case.
Where this applies
We file under United States law. Other countries work differently — Canada requires hosts to forward a notice rather than act on it, and the European Union runs a separate regime under the Digital Services Act.
